REFUGEE GIRL – POEM

I am a refugee girl.

I live in a tent with my family.

I am hungry so very often.

When it rains, our tent gets flooded

And there is no shower to wash.

I don’t know what our lives will be next.

I do not go to primary school.

I have future goals, but no training.

I can hardly read or write, sadly.

My father cannot work here.

My mother is always depressed.

Some people run away, but get caught.

They say I am stateless, have no passport.

People outside the camp want us to leave.

I don’t know why they do not like us.

Please know that I am a little age 8 refugee girl.

Hoping for a miracle, some country to take us.

Here, I have to hang on to only my dreams.
