Thank you for your interest in taking the “Share.Learn.Shape.” survey. Please read the following information and click “I agree” if you would like to continue.
Why is the study being done? The Population Council would like to know what women think about preventing HIV, STDs, and unintended pregnancy. The Population Council is a non-profit research organization based in New York City with offices around the world. This study will help the Population Council choose which products to develop in the future.
What will happen if I take part in the study? If you are eligible, you will be asked to take a short survey about using contraception and other vaginal products. You will also be asked your opinion about new products being developed. If you consent and click “I agree,” you will be taken to the survey.
How long will I be in the study? It will take you ½ hour (30 minutes) or less for the survey. NOTE: IF YOU EXIT THE SURVEY BEFORE FINISHING IT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN. THEREFORE, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ½ HOUR, WE SUGGEST YOU TAKE IT AT ANOTHER TIME.
Are there any potential risks or discomforts that I can expect from this study? Taking this survey is no riskier than using the Internet for any other purpose. If you share your computer or cell phone with other people, they might see you taking the survey; however, you can stop the survey at any time. There are questions about sex and HIV in the survey, which some people may find uncomfortable. You do not have to answer any questions that make you feel uncomfortable.
Are there any benefits of participating in the study? There are no direct benefits to you from taking the survey. You may feel proud to share your experiences and opinions, and you may learn about new products in development. The study may help scientists choose which products to test in the future.
Will information about me and my participation be kept confidential? This survey is completely anonymous. You will never be asked for your name or other information that could identify you.
What are my rights as a research participant? Your participation is completely voluntary. If you choose to take part, you are free to skip any questions and you are free to stop at any time.
What will I receive for participating? It will not cost you anything, nor will you receive any compensation for taking part.
What will happen to the results of the research study? The study results will be shared at conferences and in scientific journals.
