Women’s Intercultural Network invites all sectors for conversation with a purpose on the intersections between sustainable cities and women’s human rights with CEDAW and Habitat as critical tools for sustainable development. We will hold a series of short conversations with innovators on the ‘front lines’ to envision sustainable cities and what is needed to move SDG goals forward.
What role do cities play in sustainable development and women’s human rights? As UN Sec.-Gen. Ban Ki-Moon stated, “Our struggle for global sustainability will be won or lost in cities”. With input from expert panelists and the Cities for CEDAW Campaign, participant Conversation Circles will consider a sustainable city using blueprints from Habitat and CEDAW Ordinances with a focus on women’s human rights. We will focus on global to local for women and girls.
