The Status of Women in the States provides data on women’s progress in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the United States overall. The data can be used to raise awareness, improve policies, and promote women’s equality.
The national 2015 edition, the first since 2004, of the Status of Women in the States series made a significant impact on shifting the media conversation on women and inequality this year—from a cover feature in Glamour Magazine and a viral Daily Show segment to local news stories about community initiatives to address the gender inequalities highlighted in the report.
