WITCHCRAFT – 21st CENTURY ACCUSATIONS & PERSECUTION
On this day, October 31, Halloween is considered a holiday in some parts of the world. Sometimes associated with Halloween, is the idea or “witches.” In truth witchcraft accusations against women, often older women, and even children, can be exceedingly harmful, marginalizing, violent, even deadly.
The accusations of witchcraft can also have ulterior motives such as wanting a woman’s land, trafficking of children, charging high fees to exorcise evil spirits, or reflecting jealousies. The witchcraft claims are usually directed at persons most vulnerable. Now, in modern time, it is important to advocate against all witchcraft accusations, which are violations of human rights.
