Comparison of
Legislation Relating to Trafficking in the Nordic Baltic Region
Within the Nordic Baltic Network, a comparison of legislation relating to
trafficking in human beings have been undertaken. The comparison aims to show
the developments, good practises, and challenges as far as legislation goes to
combat trafficking in women and guarantee protection for victims of
trafficking, by providing a clear picture of the situation in the Nordic Baltic
region. The comparison shows ratification status of international legal
documents by the Nordic and Baltic countries; national legislation on
trafficking in human beings; legislation regarding reflection period, residence
permit and compensation; and also legislation on prostitution in the countries
