For 228 countries or areas, regions and the world, the wall chart presents comparable indicators including absolute and relative numbers of the older population, proportions currently married, living alone and in the labour force among both older men and women, the sex ratio of populations aged 60 and over and 80 and over, the potential support ratio, the statutory retirement age for men and women and life expectancy at age 60 for men and women. The new chart updates the wall chart Population Ageing 2002 and adds information on the percentage of older persons who live alone.
