‘Life Imprisonment’ is a film about the unfree lives, torture and
fear that many women face in thier homes – right from the womb to the tomb, even
58 years after India won her freedom.This 30 minute Documentary Film in English
based on the issue of Domestic Violence in India was produced by The Public Service Broadcasting Trust in
partnership with Prasar Bharati, India. It was first aired on 8th October 2005
at 9.00 am on Doordarshan National and at 10.30 pm on Doordarshan News, India.
