The Ibrahim Index of African
Governance – IIAG – can be a useful qualitative and quantitative advocacy
tool for African women’s programs and projects, and noting the four dimensions:
Safety & Law, Human Rights, Economic Opportunity and Human
Development. Governance is defined by the Ibrahim Foundation as the provision
of the political, social and economic public goods and services that a citizen
has the right to expect from her or his state, and that a state has the
responsibility to deliver to its citizens.

Index of African Governance 46-Page Summary Publication:
IIAG is the most
comprehensive collection ofquantitative data on governance in Africa. Compiled
in partnership with experts from a number of the continent’s institutions, it
provides anannual assessment of governance in every African country. The IIAG
provides a framework for citizens, governments, institutions and businessto
assess the delivery of public goods and services, and policy outcomes, across
Africa.
